Spelling Bee: February 1st at 1:00 at Woodhaven Church.
Saturday Science Class: Margie is offering science classes throughout February and March. Topics are Past Technologies (Feb 2); Sweets for Your Sweetie (Feb. 9); Easter Eggs (Feb. 23); Past Technologies (March 30). Margie also offers Magic School Bus Activity Classes, Kinetic City Super Crew Mystery Club, Bookworm Literacy Classes, Scout Badge Workshops and many other services. She'll also set up science classes during specifically geared toward homeschoolers. Call Margie for more information at 388-3446.
Rollerskating: Rollerskating is going to be the first Wednesday of each month from 1 to 3 at Rapid Skate. The dates will be Feb. 6, March 6, April 3, and May 1 for the rest of the year.
American Girl Club: This is at Imagination Station from 10 to noon. Feb. 16 is Kit's World and March 30 focuses on Molly. Call Margie for more information at 388-3446.

Presidents Presentation: Choose a president,
research him, make a report, poster, dress up like him, let creativity
be your guide. Then come prepared to share what you have learned.
Present him in an honoring way. Presentations will be held on Thursday,
February 28th at Dove Christian Center fellowship hall. We
will NOT be serving refreshments. There will be
tables set up for display purposes.

Storybook Island - Community Service: When they reopen we will volunteer to clean up the park on Thursday's from 10-11, then have picnic lunch. Contact Jen for more information.
Teen Court: The Teen Court program is looking for homeschooling teenagers interested in serving on the jury as a peer to teenage offenders. Teen Court is a volunteer program that assists teenage offenders in assuming responsibility for their behavior though involvement in the judicial process and service in the community. Offenders are brought before a jury of their peers where they are given constructive sentences and from this they gain and understanding of their roles in society. Red Cross Workshops: The Black Hills Chapter
Red Cross is offering workshops for homeschool students. These workshops
are free and offer a variety of training information and activities for
each age group to assist them in developing safe habits as well as confidence
in handling emergency situations. Please stop by or call with the

This is where homeschooling dad Andy Johnson works! The Center is home-schooler friendly. This wonder facility has NASA videos and programs which you are free to copy for your own use. Just bring them the media and they'll copy for you. It also has classroom size Science kits and a host of other materials that you might want to look at.
The CAMSE Materials Database is a growing database that lists nearly all of the Math and Science classroom materials that are available for teachers to look at or borrow from the CAMSE Materials Center. They have many kinds of materials - classroom kits, videos, books, and many materials from NASA, to name a few.
